Ca : 1s22s22p63s23p64s2
You can see that there is half-filled in 4s orbital of K.
It is evenly distributed and thus it has extra stability.
There is fully-filled in 4s orbital of Ca.
It is also evenly distributed and thus it has extra stability.
K’: 2, 8, 9 à 1s22s22p63s23p63d1
Ca’: 2, 8, 10 à 1s22s22p63s23p63d2
K’ and Ca’ are less stable when compared with K and Ca respectively as K’ and Ca’ have no extra stability.
(Not evenly distributed)
Thus, K: 2,8,9 and Ca: 2,8,10 would not existed.

最簡單黎講, K同Ca系元素表既第4層(上至下), 所以有4個電子層, 所以係2 8 8 2同2 8 8 1而吾系2 8 10同2 8 9
