The figure shows a cylindrical glass whose outer diameter is 10cm and inner diameter is 9cm . If the height of the glass is 20cm and its thickness is uniform ( including the base), find the volume of material used for making this glass ?

Thickness of the glass = (10 - 9)/2 = 0.5 cmVolume of the material used
= Volume of the big cylinder - Volume of the small cylinder
= piR^2H - pir^2h
= pi[(10/2)^2(20)] - pi[(9/2)^2(20 - 0.5)]
= (841pi/8) cm^3
