1)Mouse and rat both belong to the rodent family. Their respective size is
the major factor to differenciate the two. A mouse comparatively is much smaller than a rat but it will never grow into a rat. A full grown mouse weights only a few ounces whereas a fully grown rat may weight a pound or over.
A rat digs a deep and long burrow up to a 3 feet or longer to live in ; a
mouse will not go deeper than a foot if it does, it usually lives inside a
readily available hole, behind or under something it feels comfortable and
safe.
What's more, a rat being cornered may fight back or bite you whereas
a mouse will normally back off in total fear.
2)A rug normally is a thick fabric for covering part of a floor, usually woven
of wool with an oblong shape with a border design. A rug may also be referred to as a small blanket to cover the shoulders or knees to keep
warm in cold weather. In England, many people like using a woven rug
as a coverlet of their bed.
A mat, on the other hand, is a piece of fabric made of plaited or woven
rushes, straw, hempor even rubber placed somewhere inside or outside
the house for various purposes,e.g., to wipe the shoes on, for decoration
and comfort. A mat of larger size may be used for physical exercise on
the floor at home or even for covering the whole wrestling ring whereas
mats of small size are often used for putting on lamps, flower pots, cups
and dishes etc.,as a protection against scratches to the table or furnture.
