Let y = x + 1/xSo, the equation becomes:
2y^2 - 7y + 6 = 0
which is a quadratic equation:
2y^2 - 7y + 6 = 0
(2y - 3)(y - 2) = 0
y = 3/2 or 2
So, x + 1/x = 3/2 or 2
2x^2 - 3x + 1 = 0 or x^2 - 2x + 1 = 0
(2x - 1)(x - 1) = 0 or (x - 1)^2 = 0
x = 1/2 or 1
