Dear chunghiutung2005 ~~~

Compounds are made up of two or more elements.

Ammonia = NH3 (Compound contains nitrogen and hydrogen)

Oxygen = O (Element)

Chlorine = Cl (Element)

Sodium = Na (Element)

Hydrogen = H (Element)

Iron = Fe (Element)

Sulphur = S (Element)

Mercury = Hg (Element)

Water = H2O (Compound which is made up of hydrogen and oxygen)

Hope that it will be helped ~~~~~

Definition: A mixture is formed when more than one element or compound mix together without going through any reaction.

3) When sodium chloride is mixed with water, the sodium chloride solution is formed. Since it is only dissolving without any chemical reaction is produced. Hence, it is a mixture.

4) Same as the above question, glucose(C6H12O6) is mixed with water, the glucose solution is then formed. Since there is still no reaction occurred when dissolving and it can be proved that it is a mixture.

1. Element is a pure substance that cannot be broken down into anything simpler, so the followings are elements:
a. Oxygen (O)
b. Chlorine (Cl)
c. Sodium (Na)
d. Hydrogen (H)
e. Iron (Fe)
f. Sulphur (S)
g. Mercury (Hg)

2. Compound is a pure substance that consists two or more elements and can be broken down into simpler form by chemical reaction, so the followings are compounds:
a. Ammonia (NH3)
b. Water (H2)

Remark: In fact, chloride (Cl-) is an ion, whcih is not an element or compound.

3. Sodium chloride solution is a mixture. When adding NaCl to water, no reactions occur when dissolving, so NaCl(aq) is a mixture.

4. Glucose solution is a mixture. Wheen glucose (C6H12O6) to water, no reactions occur when dissolving, so glucose solution is a mixture.
