請英文小說幾問

電腦字典跟紙的字典只要它每個字都最少有三個以上解釋和例句的便可以了。但如果on-line翻譯那些只是你入一個字，它吐一個解譯就可以不用了。由於你是看小說，不是教科書，係沒有syllabus的，嗰個字或句你已經唔明，作者要用一個字來作故事可能只是用那個字的某一意思，同時有很多小說會玩「語帶相關」的文字或發音玩意的，所以會用些字不常用的意思作為文章的精彩點綴，所以你的字典的字要有數個解釋，並且連一些這字的不同詞性的字verb/noun/adj/adv，並且有些phrase或例子的，假如個字本身的解釋跟內容都不明白，你便可以順便看看是不一些phrasal verb的詞或者是一些諺語。

睇你英文程度去到邊啦~ 一般黎講如果你英文都OK (英文中學既) 仲要選D唔好咁深. 其實讀呢D書唔駛下下個個字都查架~ 因為你會發現好多都係形容詞, 仲好多時一句入面幾個字既解釋都係一樣或差唔多. 要查都最好查NOUN先. 學英文最好就係朗讀. 唔識果隻字最好自己先併. 好唔識先問人. 你唔需要知個解釋住. 好多人去左外國都係用呢個方法. 唔係下下查, 咁多隻字, 查天光都未睇完半本啦~

I don't know which is better, but for convenience-wise, I usually keep the [ google translate ] page open on one of my monitors and just copy the vocabulary and paste it onto the google translate box, instantly, I can get the meaning(s) of the vocabulary. Or, you can just type the word onto the google box, very convenient.

Most of the time, the meaning goes with the context of my reading materials, if it doesn't, I would guess the meaning....haha....
