Who is better in baseball? Cuba, DR, or Puerto Rico?

Cuba has the best international baseball team. They're a lot like the Russian hockey team of the 1980's. Because Cuba is a communist nation, the United States does not trade with them, you can't visit Cuba, Cubans cannot visit the US. You get the picture. So, while all the best players from the DR and PR are free to immigrate and play for Major League Baseball, Cuban baseball players do not have that freedom.

With that being said, you may wonder why more Cuban players don't just defect to the United States. Some have, most notably Livian Hernandez, his half brother El Duque and, most recently, Aroldis Chapman who is pitching for the Reds AAA affiliate in Louisville, KY. However, you have to remember that, when a player defects, he inevitably leaves family and friends behind and the stories of what Castro does to those left behind when someone defects are absolutely hideous.

Dominican Republic, especially for the left-fielder Manny Ramirez and the first baseman David Ortiz.

Dominican Republic by far. Cuba was once the best baseball nation, Puerto Rico has declined dramatically over the years.

I'm going to have to go with the Cubans. The Cuban National team routinely wins tournaments and when they don't, they're usually in the finals. A lot of people will disagree out of bias against a communist country and because many people don't have as much exposure to the Cuban team. The average American only gets to see the Cubans play during the Olympics (although, that will no longer be the case) and the World Baseball Classic.
