"Receive a foreign friend", does this expression sound correct or nature to you?
This means "to welcome a foreign friend".
If this is not right, can you please tell me how you would normally say it?
Thanks!

It is correct, though it's formal. Normally, you would say something like, "wecome a foreign friend", or greet them, or something along that line, but if you said "receive" we would get the message; it's just formal.
