before絕對是前置詞(preposition)in front of通常指位置上的「前面」, 或當著對方面前做某件事, 而before一般人認為只能描述時間性的「前面」
但其實before也可以用作描述位置上的「前面」, 而且往往比in front of更正式.

In my opinion, in this case, [ in front of ] should be used instead of [before]. As far as I am concerned, [ in front of] is used for indicating the position while [ before] is used mostly for indicating the time and the order.
