Should the Chicago White Sox move to Omaha and call themselves the Prarie Dogs?

They are a great franchise and I love Ozzie Guillen, but in Chicago they are always second fiddle to the Cubs, even when they win the World Series. And as for their name--nobody in the world outside of North Chicago hears "Sox" and thinks "White Sox." A new name would get them out of the Red Sox' shadow for a change.

Right now they are just a neighborhood team. They could move to Nebraska and rule the Prairies!

Montreal? The Expos weren't even being shown on television by the time they finally moved from there. You will never see big league ball in Montreal again.

They should move to their original home of Sioux City, Iowa and change their name back to the Cornhuskers like they were when they were started here in the late 1800's Then they are half way between Omaha and Sioux Falls and can draw more fans from both areas plus they would be further from Kansas City where they routinely get at least 15 people to show up to watch them play!

Better to be second fiddle in a big city and draw well over 2 million a year (2.2 in 2009) than be the number one team in a puny little cow-town and be lucky to to draw a million.
Sorry, but Omaha is just too small to support a big league club. And given that there isn't a whole lot to do there, you don't get a lot of tourists, so you pretty much would be stuck drawing only from a very small local population.

I would however, support them moving to Montana.
Then perhaps they could be called the "Helena Handbaskets".

Well face it, it has been like this a long time, and maybe even way before you have been born. And plus I don't see the Chicago Cubs leaving Wrigley Field or Wrigleyville, no matter who buys them or the stadium. And the same that I can say for the Chicago White Sox. It would still be in Chicago, even if it is on the 2 sides of Chicago. But I could just not see the Chicago White Sox wanting to pick up thier stadium, and move it to even closer to downtown Chicago. I know you think you need more fans, but the Chicago White Sox I don't think will ever be more popluar then the Chicago Cubs, or even this will change. You just might have to pack your bags, and maybe even move to New York.

The Sox aren't as popular as the Cubs (as you said), but living in the Chicago area a lot of people like the White Sox also.

NOOOOOOOOOOO WAAAAAAAYYYYY!!!!

the Praires are they serious. the sox need to stay in chicago. they have an awesome fan base and they may not have as many fans. Nebraska is mostly into football anyway, and if they did change, the team wouldn't have as many fans as they would have in Chicago.

They won the World Series in 2005, while the Cubs haven't won in more than a century. Pretty sure people know who the White Sox are...

The only important change that needs to be made in the baseball world is that they need to hold onto the bat when they start running. Until that happens, baseball just isn't worth it. Watch rugby.

If they move, they shouldn't move to Nebraska. Charlotte, Portland or Las Vegas would make better choices.
I would really like Buffalo or Indianapolis, but I think they'd be too close to other teams.
However, they COULD make into Montreal, Calgary or Edmonton. In Montreal, they'd own French Canada, and in Calgary or Edmonton, they'd probably rule all of Canada between Toronto and Vancouver. Heck, they could get some extra prarie fans, too.
