the equilibrium of strong acid lie on right hand side
the equilibrium of weak acid lie on left hand side

WHY ???

Consider the dissociation of an acid, HA:
HA(aq) ≒ H^+(aq) + A^-(aq)

When HA is a strong acid, HA dissociates to a great extent (almost completely).
Then, [H^+] ≈ [A^-] >> [HA]
The equilibrium is said to be "lie on the right".

When HA is a strong acid, HA dissociates to a small extent.
Then, [HA] >> [H^+] ≈ [A^-]
The equilibrium is said to be "lie on the left".
