The correct answer would be 4. Assign the first gene A or the recessive expression a. The second gene B and b. Possible combinations are AB, Ab, aB and ab.

Please refer to IB BIology HL May 2004 Paper 1 MC 30 Time Zone 1

The Answer should be 9.

For example,

Gene 1: RR Rr rr
Gene 2: BB Bb bb

Therefore, totally 3 x 3 = 9 Genotypes.
