What is (sulfite + water) SO3 + H2O --> ?

Im studying for chem, and this is on the review, but I don't know how to combine them, because i would do the criss cross for double displacement, however when I do that, the SO u would get the S is negative and the O is negative???

yea that makes sense, and would make sulfuric acid, thanks

SO3 is sulphur trioxide. This is the second oxidation step in the oxidation of sulphur in the contact process for sulphuric acid production
Step 1: S + O2 → SO2
Step 2 2SO2 + O2 → 2SO3

The SO3 gas combines with water to form H2SO4
SO3 + H2O → H2SO4

You must not confuse SO3 sulphur trioxide with the sulphite ion SO3 2- as in sodium sulphite: Na2SO3. Stick with the production of H2SO4 in your answer.

Wouldn't it be H2SO4? as in Sulfuric Acid.
the electronegitivy wouldn't matter in this case.

2SO3(aq) + 2H2O(l) --> 2H2SO3(aq) + O2(g)
