The term "stray" has already indicated that it is a capacitance in parallel with the main capacitor.
For capacitors connected in parallel, the equivalent capacitance is equal to the sum of capacitances of individual capacitor, because it could be viewed as the surface area of the "capacitor plate" is increased.
For capacitors connected in parallel, the equivalent capacitance is equal to the sum of capacitances of individual capacitor, because it could be viewed as the surface area of the "capacitor plate" is increased.
