Hmm some of these mistakes are a little 'funny' to pick out, here's my take:

1.Most patients were in pain for many years before they seek treatment.

2.They blocked the door and made us unable to go in.

3.She didn’t fail the test. On the contrary, she did very well.

4.She is not shy. On the contrary, she is very involved in public
speaking activities.

5.Are westerners difficult to find employment in Hong Kong?
I would probably change most of it to:
Do Westerners have difficulties in finding employment in HK?
Is it difficult for Westerners to find employment in HK?

6.He suffered from an unknown illness and had to stay at home for a
long time. (This one sounds like 'in the past, he suffered, and he was ordered to stay at home)
OR
6.He suffered from an unknown illness and stayed at home for a
long time. (This one keeps all the tenses the same throughout the sentence)

By the way - I think it should be 'stay AT home' because that's the proper phrase, and it's always 'AT home', 'AT school' as one. 'Stay home' is a rather colloquial term, used in the US more often, and shouldn't really be used in writing (unless in causal writing).

7.Even if you shout, no one will hear you.

8.For John, he likes to relax by playing card games with his friends.
(I see no problems with this but you can take out 'For' to make it simpler:
John likes to relax by playing card games with his friends.)

9.You have to accept what they offer, whether you are happy with it or
not.

10.I’m afraid your proposal does not benefit our company at all. (Take out 'to')

Oops I missed one: it should be 'offerED' in no. 9

2010-03-31 09:20:12 補充:
More on No.2:
They blocked the door, and WE WERE UNABLE TO go INSIDE.
They blocked the door, and WE WEREN'T ABLE TO go INSIDE.
