In my opinion, the once-in-a-century drought is an unusual natural disaster that caused a lot of serious problems. After reading this news, I have a stirring of emotion because of the meaning behind the news.
First of all, the drought caused a lack of drinking water thus villagers were difficult to get water. Since clean water is very important for living, so that I think the villagers must be unbearable and uncomfortable of living without drinking water.
I feel very upset when I heard that the villagers were lining up to obtain emergency water supplies because we are easy to get clean water anytime in our city and I have never thought about living without drinking water. Therefore, I feel we are so lucky to have a comfortable and convenient living environment.Moreover, this news can advise people to treasure the drinking water and understand the importance of clean water.
Next, the drought led to a decline in grain output, thus raise the crop and food prices. I am furious at the poor rescue from the government as the farmlands dried up but the farmers did not have water tanks to irrigate crops since the government did not invest in such projects.Therefore, the villagers were finding water resources and digging wells by themselves. I think the government should invest rural drinking water projects and irrigation facilities in the drought-hit regions so that it can stabilize the grain output and prevent social instability.
Last but not least, although we cannot stop the occurrence of natural disasters, we can prevent the natural disasters from protecting our planet. Since a lot of natural disasters are caused by environmental destruction and pollution, we can improve the environment in order to avoid the natural disasters. If the government can provide a suitable and immediate reaction, I think the effect of this drought can be reduced more.
Finally,I hope the drought will end as soon as possible and the life of the villagers can return to normal.

In my opinion, I find many implications behind the news with much emotional unrest about my motherland. First of all, the drought makes massive areas lack drinking water that villagers’ livelihood depend for living and farming. Without clean water to support this daily lives, I feel the situation is unbearable and becomes difficult as there is no foreseeable change in the weather condition.
I feel worried even though the villagers are able to line up to obtain emergency relief water supply. Unlike city life with continuous supply for water as convenient as turning on the tap, it is not easy for the remote villages to get direct water supply. I am glad by this news, people will understand the importance of clean water and treasure every drop of our drinking water.
Next in point, the drought leads to a decline in crops production, thus raised the grain and food prices. I am upset that the government is unable to provide relief water to irrigate the farmland. Villagers can only dig wells in hoping to provide relief for themselves. I think the government should invest in water supply project with irrigation facilities for the farmland in advance so that it can stabilize the crops output when a natural drought hits to prevent social and economic instability.
Last but not least, although we cannot stop the occurrence of natural disasters, we can protect our planet from man-induced natural disasters. Since a lot of natural disasters are caused by environmental pollution and destruction of natural balance, we can improve our management of the environment in order to avoid natural disasters. If the government can take immediate relief action and have suitable planning to manage water resources and correct deforestation in the west, I think the effect of this drought can be less severe.
Finally, I hope the drought will end soon and the lives of the villagers can return to normal.
