We're taking it this year. Volquez will be back after all star break, harang is going back to being a 200+ SO/year pitcher. Votto will have around a .340 avg, Bruce 30-40 HRs. Gomes 30-35 HRs and the deepest rotation in baseball with the best closer in the division. The team will suprise everyone, and if not this year, Cueto, Volquez, Owings, Baily and Chapman are all really young, as well as their top 2 hitters Votto and Bruce

Not this year but I would say sometime before 2020 or 2022. This is a talented team with Chapman, Votto, Bruce, Bailey but they need a few more pieces

Well they are constantly the favorite to win 2nd in the division behind the Cardinals but something always goes wrong.

I think the Reds have a very long way to go. They are not a very good team right now. To be honest, I can't name a starting pitcher that I would want on my team - maybe Arroyo but the rest of the pitching staff is terrible. Cueto is Jekyl and Hyde - don't know who is going to show up - he's the typical over-emotional Latin Pitcher. Ball moves but you can get into his head. Volquez had that great year 2 years ago but then got hurt

I love Votto - he's the best player on the Reds team. I said 2 years ago and I'm saying it now - he's way better then Jay Bruce. I don't know what the Reds have in Jay Bruce, he's only 23 years old. I think the Reds made a mistake by bringing him up as a 20/21 year old. They should of kept getting him at bats in AAA - last year should of been his rookie year (or he could of come up in July last year).

Tell you what the Reds are desperate for - and I mean DESPERATE - is a Right Handed Power Hitter. Just look at how well Brandon Phillips did last year - BRANDON PHILLIPS FOR CRYING OUT LOUD. I see they are a little desperate and know they need a Right Handed Bat big time by getting and staying with an oft injured 34 Scott Rolen. I mean they don't even need a "fancy right handed hitter" just a power pull hitter.

If the Reds got that Right Handed Bat - here's a line up that would score A LOT of runs (which they will need for that staff)

Right Handed Hitter - Brandon Phillips - 2nd Base
Right Handed Hitter - Orlando Cabrera - SS
Left Handed Hitter - Joey Votto - 1B
Right Handed Hitter - the Mysterious Hitter the Reds Need
Left Handed Hitter - Jay Bruce - RF
Right Handed Hitter - Scott Rolen - 3B
Right Handed Hitter - Ramon Hernandez - C
Left Handed Hitter - Curtis Dickerson = CF

As you can see this line up doesn't have a lot of Switch Hitters and all you need is a Right Handed Power Hitter who can hit a Fastball and play LF - I mean Jason Bay or Holliday would of been the perfect fit. It's strange that the Reds could drop $30 Million on Cuban Immigrant Aroldis Chapman who is going to take at least 2 years to be in the big leagues but couldn't get a "big time hitter"

The lineup above let Phillips be the player he's perfect to be - the leadoff guy with speed/power/average. I don't know what the Reds have to trade since it doesn't look the FA market is open for power hitters. The Reds will probably move Phillipd over to the 3 or 4 and then use Dickerson or some other OF with speed at the lead off spot.

With the Brewers, Cubs and Cards in the division - I think the Reds need pitching.

Um my guess is any where around 2017 to 2034

I see potential in them but as of now NO, in like 2013 or 2014 very likely they need to sign Free Agents who are Good Decent players they can and will make things happen.

They may not win it for a long time to come, but if you are lucky they will win it in your lifetime, where you will be old enough to remember it. I is hard to say, they have to have at least a winning season to make it the playoffs, and win throughout the playoffs, and make it to the World Series to do all that. So it is just hard to say.

If they keep their younger players under contract, especially the bull pen and make some trades or free agent signings for the missing pieces they could get back as early as 2013-14
