A bottle of 0.5kg water and 0.75kg of water have been stored in a refrigerator for a few days.
Which of the following statements are correct?

1. The temperatures of the 2 bottles of water are equal.
2. The average K.E. of the water molecues in the two bottles is equal.
3. The total P.E. of the water molecues in the two bottles is equal.

Statement 1 & 2 are correct.
1.Why is statement 3 wrong?

(1)3.X
As the both bottlesof water are also in the liquid state, the water molecules of both of them have the same average potential energy. However the bottle of 0.75kg water has more water molecules than the bottle of 0.5kg water, so the total potential energy of water molecules in the former is higher than that of the later.
(2)Yes
