A Gaussian sphere of radius 4.00cm is centered on a ball that has a radius of 1.00cm and a uniform charge distribution.The total(net) electric flux through the surface of the Gaussian sphere is +5.60x10^4 (Nxm^2/C).What is the electric potential 12.0cm from the center of the ball??

By Gauss Law,

Electric flux = q / E0

q / E0 = 5.60 X 10^4

So, now the electric potential at 12.0 cm from the ball, V

= 1/4piE0 q/r

= (1/4pi)(q/E0)(1/r)

= (1/4pi)(5.60 X 10^4)(1/0.12)

= 3.71 X 10^4 V
