A boy of weight 450N sits on a 4-leg chair which weights 250N. Each leg of the chair makes contact with the floor in a circle that is 4cm in daimeter. Find the pressure exerted on the floor by ezch leg of the chair

Area of contact of each leg on the floor = pi.(4/2)^2 cm^2 = 12.566 cm^2where pi = 3.14159....
Total area of contact on the floor for the 4 legs = 4 x 12.566 cm^2 = 50.265 cm^2
Pressure = (450+250)/50.265 N/cm^2 = 13.9 N/cm^2 = 139 000 N/m^2
