32 = 36(x/27)
32 = 4x/3
4x = 3(32)
x = 96/4
x = 24

Well...
32:36 is just saying a ratio of 32/36.
So you want x/27 to have the same rato as 32:36 has.
So x/27 = 32/36
therefore x = (32/36) * 27
Solving this we get x = 24.
You can check your answer as well!
Because in a calculator 32/36 = .88 reccuring
After solving for x, trying the new ratio 24 : 27.
In a calculator you'll find 24/27 is also equal to .88 recurring
32:36 is just saying a ratio of 32/36.
