I found the LCD; 12 and * the 3, 4 and 2 by 12. so i got 36x - 48x = 24. Than i ended up with 36. Is this the correct way to do this equation?

LCD is the first correct step. Next you have to multipy the LCD by (x/3) which will give you 4x. Do the same for the other terms, 12*(x/4) = 3x and 12*2=24.
Next line should be 4x - 3x = 24; and x = 24.

x/3 - x/4 = 2
12(x/3 - x/4) = 12(2)
4x - 3x = 24
x = 24

x=24

4x - 3x = 24------------after x by 12

x = 24

x=24
thats right but too lengthy
just get lcm and multiply x with other's denominator and then equate

thats so easy

(4x-3x)/12=2
24=x
you got it....
