SSID stands for Service Set IDentifier. This is the name you set up your WiFi Router so when you use your computer to search the available WiFi around, you can be sure to log in to your own router, not someone else's.

For example, when you take your computer to Starbucks or McDonald's, you turn on your computer's WiFi and do a search, and you may see "Starbuck CWB WiFi" or "McDonald's MK WiFi". These are the names the shop have set up for their WiFi Router, and you as the customer will know which one to log in to.

Just follow the step. Make sure you use a key for accessing to your router (WPA2 standard, for example), in this case only people who know the key (you and your family or friends for example) will be able to use your WiFi router, and not your neighbors.

SSID is a name that you name your wireless router.
So in the available network listing, you will see this name and know which one to connect to.
You can give it any name you like.
