當有人倒油落水 , 海水咪有油 ! 因水不會與油混合 , 所以油浮在水面 . 而加入soap時 , soap是surfactant可以將水乳化emusify入水內 , 成為水油乳化溶液 . 此時亦生成泡沫foam , sud or lather . 但海水內有calcium or magnsium 等alkaline earth metal ions ,因soap是sodium fatty salt which will react with the calcium or magnesium ions in sea water similar as to hard water to form insoluble salt ppt out . This is the scum formed & use up the soap . Since soap has this weak piont that many other artificial surfactants replace soap .
