You cannot, during your duration of study, change to a BC passport.

There are only 3 way for a BNO change to BC, 2 of them are thru normal migration.

You either;
-Married a British national and claim ILR. 5 years living in UK,youwill get BC passport

-Have a compony sponsor you for a employment visa, you work for 5 years, youwill get ILR, 1 more years of stay in UK, you wil lget BC Passport

-Stay in UK for whatever reason for 12 years, then youcan claim ILR thru Long Resident, And 1 more year to get BC passport.

This is the only way because the british Government changed their Citizenship law in 2001, used to be, if you live in UK for 5 years, you will get British Citizenship by registration.

But now, for other British Nationality holder, you need to live in UK for 5 years with the last year "Free of Migration control" in order to register for British Citizenship.

In term, it put BNO or other British National into same category as everybody else, but have advantage to get british citizenship sooner. (Cos you need to get ILR like everyone else, but you only need to stayin UK for 1 year after your ILR, instead of 7 to claim British Citizenship)

No matterhow you spin it, you need to wait at least 5 years to get British Citizenship, and there are waiting period to claim any benefit, so by the time you can get any benefit, you should finished your study a long time ago...
