If ya a religious person according to the creator of chickens, chickens came first. It was on the Fifth Day of Creation that He created ….‘every winged fowl after their kind’ (Genesis) complete with the DNA to reproduce that kind. Then He blessed them, saying, ‘Be fruitful, and multiply’ using that DNA. For the chickens this meant lay chicken eggs. Problem solved. Of course if ya not RELIGIOUS then ya will just have to go on wondering wont ya? lol

Egg no doubt. Can you imagine trees coming before seeds? Creation is not a theory, it's the "truth" according to religion. Believing in this "truth" is called faith. If you choose the faith way you will find your answers in your religious book, without much room for any debate. But if you begin asking questions you should give credit to science and logic first.

The chicken comes first because the chicken lays the egg.

the chikkeggen. (The egg was already inside the chicken when the bird was invented. You would know what I mean if you lived on a farm and helped butcher chickens.) When the Chinese created egg drop soup, they dropped the egg and were left with "chikken," later: "chicken" in English when somebody hearing this story said "I SEE" (ic).

They both evolved at the same time. Go far enough back and it wouldn't even look like a chicken or an egg. Like a zygote and a cell membrane. Always been an egg laying flightless fowl sence it wasn't.

You're not supposed to get an answer for this. But for you, I got a good one!

REMEMBER THAT FOR HUMANITY, THERE IS NO WAY TO KNOW A TRUE BEGINNING OR END.

Think of the Big Bang Theory--a belief a scientist hypothesized as to how the universe was formed. He claimed that a bunch of molecules randomly collided perfectly and thus, LIFE. But that begs the question, what made the molecules....and what MADE the molecules that made the molecules. We'll never know.

With chickens though! Its a little different. Since all life emerged--in terms of science--from some unknown common ancestor, we all share some similar traits, just some creatures are more evolved that others.

SO

The egg came first, but the egg was NOT from a chicken. The egg came from something that looked like a chicken, and the egg which hatches into a chicken can be considered the capstone of millions of years of evolution for that species.

What came first: a living creature, or a creature in a egg waiting to be hatched?! WE DONT KNOW

K BYE!
