1.(a) Since the window washer is moving up at constant speed, the tension in the rope equals to her weight plus that of the bucket.
Thus, the pulling force = tension in the rope = 65g N = 650 N
(take g, the acceleration due to gravity, equals to 10 m/s2)

(b) If the force is increased by 10%, the extra force = 650 x 0.1 N = 65 N
Thus, using net-force = mass x acceleration
65 = 65a, where a is the acceleration
a = 1 m/s2
