t + u = 12 ... (1)
(10u + t) = (10t + u) - 36 ... (2)

(1):
t = 12 - u ... (3)

Put (3) into (2):
[10u + (12 - u)] = [10(12 - u) + u] - 36
10u + 12 - u = 120 - 10u + u - 36
18u = 72
u = 4

Put u = 4 into (3):
t = 12 - 4
t = 8

The original number = 84
