在香港, "升呢"、"屈機"、"0嘴"一類詞語都被視為潮語, 在平民百姓中使用頻率不低, 不只限於網上或短訊語言族群。
故翻譯"潮語"一詞時, 也應要考慮target language是否代表這種時興語言
