what is pq + 5p? i am revising and i am not sure of the answer?
i think it is 6p + q but aint sure, cud sumbody tell me the answer please?

pq + 5p =p (q + 5)
pq + 5p
= p(q) + p(5)
= p(q + 5)
pq means p multiplied by q.
You can't just add the 5p to pq, because the p in pq has already been multiplied by q
So pq + 5p is what it is.
There is a common factor of p though, so you could say p(q+5)
You could possibly factor out the p and get p(q+5) but your answer is really in simplest form as pq+5p
