(h+1)^1/2=5
√(h+1)=5
√(h+1)=√(5^2)
(h+1)=25
h=25-1
Answer: h=24

(h + 1)^1/2 = 5
Same as
Square root of (h + 1) = 5
(h + 1) = 25
h = 25 - 1
=24
2010-02-28 9:46 am
(h + 1)^1/2 = 5
(h + 1)^(1/2)^2 = 5^2
h+1=25
h=24
2010-02-28 9:45 am
(h + 1)^1/2 = 5
[(h + 1)^1/2]^2 = 5^2
[(h + 1)^(2/2)] = 25
h + 1 = 25
h = 24

raising both sides to 2

((h+1)^1/2)^2 = 5^2

h+1 = 25
h = 24
2010-02-28 10:59 am
squaring both sides
h+1= 5^2
h+1= 25
h= 25-1= 24
2010-02-28 9:55 am
h + 1 = 25

h = 24
2010-02-28 9:51 am
(h + 1)^(1/2) = 5
h + 1 = 5^(2/1)
h = 25 - 1
h = 24
