who did not approve of dancing前後加上逗號，表示這個形容詞子句（關係子句）是非限定的。因為他的爸爸只有一位，不能加以限定是那一位。

when his father learned that his son had been attending dances是副詞子句，放到主要子句之前時，應加上逗號，表示占了主要子句的位置。如果這個附屬子句（副詞子句）移到主要子句後面去，就不必加逗號了。
