5h + 2(11 - h) = - 5
5h + 22 - 2h = - 5
3h = - 27
h = - 9.

5h + 22 - 2h = - 5

3h = - 27

h = - 9

first you multiply 2(11-h)

5h + 2(11-h) = -5
5h + 22 - 2h = -5

then you subtract the h's

5h - 2h + 22 = -5
3h + 22 = -5

now you move 22 to the right, 22 turns into -22

3h = -22 - 5
3h = -27

divide 3h by 3 so you only get h

3h / 3 = -27 / 3
h = -9

5h+2(11-h) = -5

5h + 22 -2h = -5

5h - 2h = -5 - 22

3h = - 27

h= -27/3 = -9

5h + 2 (11-h) = -5
First Expand the Brackets
5h + 22 - 2h = -5
Collect like terms and solve for h
3h+22= -5
3h= -5 - 22
3h= -27
h = -9

Do the multiplication, then add, then subtract, then divide. Wah-LAH! Zee ahn-sayr!

5h + 2(11 - h) = -5

5h + 22 - 2h = -5

3h + 22 - 22 = -5 - 22

3h = -27

3h/3 = -27/3

h = -9
2010-02-27 8:44 am
5h + 2(11 - h) = -5
5h + 2(11) - 2(h) = -5
5h + 22 - 2h = -5
5h - 2h = -5 - 22
h = -27/3
h = -9

Multiplying
5h + 22 - 2h = -5

3h = -27

h = -9
