Do i need to state the direction when the question ask about the displacement?
I have a question in the textbook that asks for the distance traveled and displacement.
The answer in the textbook doesn't state the direction when answering the part of displacement.
So Do we Need to state the direction actually?

Yes, you should, if there is enough information for you to calculate the direction, unless the direction of which is already stated, or clearly implied, in the question. For example, for an object falling under gravity, the displacement is clearly in the vertically downward direction.Nevertheless, stating the direction would not be a loss, as no mark will be deducted if it is not required.
