No such issue circulating on the internet.

But this syndrome can happen to new drivers with any car. The reason for this is that when driver drives in reverse, the driver turns the upper body around looking backward. This naturally pulls his hip sideway and up, which also pulls his right foot certain distance away from the brake pedal. Solution -- try not to turn over the body too much to an over-extend level, or simply, move your seat bottom a little forward to keep a shorter, proper distance from your foot to the pedals.

Second reason may have something to do with the brake pad and brake disc. Some pad and disc combo are designed with uni-direction (forward) in mind. The brake works great slowing and stopping the car when it's moving forward, but may sacrifice a little performance when trying to do the same thing while the car is moving the other direction (reverse). However, this should not be a big problem as long as you are not stepping too hard and driving to fast while in reverse (you shouldn't anyway). Also, while the car is moving in reverse, the rear disc will have to handle more stopping force due to momentum and weight shifting -- the rear disc is way smaller than the front disc. The faster you are going in reverse, the more stress you will have to put on the rear disc in order to put the car to a stop. So please try not to drive too fast while driving backward.
