"He said she said" is very informal spoken English.

It is pretty much the same as "閒言閒語"

應該唔係idiom，只係可能你係一篇小說裏看到其中一個角色弔述另一個人曾經講過的說話吧。

他說她曾經講過...

他說的「said」係past tense係因為在寫故事。她說的「said」係真正在故事裏的past tense，以前所講的東西。

你沒有給前後文，我只是估計如此。

現實上都會用到，例如錄口供，個證人(he)說那個當事人(she)講過句....便可以如此寫法。

He said she said she went to the party at 8:00pm and left the house by midnight. 這意思是個男的複述個女的之前告訴他的內容。
