Chinese New Year is the lst, 2nd and 3rd day of January in Lunar Calendar

We visit our family or relatives on these days

We have family dinner on the Chinese New Eve.

We have the proper annual meal on the 2nd day of Chinese New Year

Children and unmarried people receive red packets from their parents or adults as a symbol of good luck.

Whever we meet people, we wish the others all the best - most common wishing is KUNG HEI FAT CHOY, ALL THE BEST WISHES COME TRUE, EVERYBODY IS HAPPY AND HEALTHY, CHILDREN GROW UP HEALTHILY etc

There will be lots cakes, cookies and candies for the Chinese New Year. People have time and make their own cakes or cookies, while the busy ones will simply buy from shops or restaurants.

There are lots of varieties in cakes or cookies but I personally like the traditional ones the best
