I'm probably the only one who will legitimatley answer this question. I think they still have a couple more years before they can compete in the division. Andrew McCutchen and Garrett Jones are definitley the keys to the offense. Pedro Alvarez, their #1 prospect, will come up by at least June. What they really need to work on is pitching. Ross Ohlendorf was the best pitcher we had last year by far. Zack Duke and Charlie Morton were decent, and Paul Maholm was disappointing last year. I want Daniel McCutchen to earn the 5th spot in the rotation because Kevin Hart just sucked last year. I like our bullpen this year. We got some nice veteren arms in Brendan Donnelly and Octavio Dotel. We needed to get rid of Capps cause he blew too many saves and got into too many jams before finally getting the final out. They got the talent, but I say 75-87. 2011 is our year. Be prepared for answers from idiots saying they will just trade them all away.

I think so. The team has good, young talent now. Lead by Andrew McCutchen, Garrett Jones, Zach Duke, Pedro Alvarez. They didn't do all that trading for nothing. The Pirates should be a team to watch out for.

I really hope they do better this season.

As usual, they will start out ok but fade fairly quickly. No depth, no one to hit the long ball. Average starting pitching that could outperform past seasons, but could just as easily fall in the other direction. Go enjoy games on nice days, but don't bet a nickel on success.

I hope so but I don't see a major difference coming.

I guess that will depend on your version of turning it around.
I think they will post a better record than last year's 62-99 by possibly 10 to 12 games.

Will they win the division? No.
Will they have a winning record? Probably not.
Will they at least have more wins this year than last? I think they are in a very good spot to do better this year. But I think they are still a few years away from being 'good.'

I agree with most of the others, give it a couple more years.

I know from experience, I'm a Rays fan.

They should be better, but it'll be at least 3 more years before they can talk about winning a division title.

I heard they are a year or two away because all their talent is in the farm system. They have just traded away so many good players the last two years.
