It is the management philosophy of International Operations to use the term “Special Situation” whenever referring to a situation, incident or event that might generally be referred to as a “cri-sis”. This is to be non-alerting (wither internally or externally) in the reporting and management of such matters. It is also to set forth a philosophy of organized and directed command and con-trol in such situations, with the objective that such occurrences can and should be effectively re-sponded to in such a manner that they never actually become crises. This may appear to be subtle semantics, but it has significant import to internal and external perceptions of how a situation is managed by Hyatt.
