Many optical instrument works on total internal reflection, e.g. binoculars, periscopes, inside which prisms are used. Light rays are reflected by "total internal reflection".

Other examples include optical fibres, including those used in telecommunication, and those used in endoscopy (i.e. optical fibres used in medicine for viewing stomach and large intestine of patients).
