Washington DC, taxi fare?

Hi, I will be taking the Megabus from NYC to DC on Tuesday morning and will get off at H St. NW opposite 10th St. NW. I need to go to Georgetown University. I want to know whether it's easy to catch a cab in that area. In addition, do you know how much it would cost to take the cab to Georgetown Univ from the same location? Thanks

Okay, the first 1/6 mile is $3.00 with 25 cents for each additional 1/6 mile. In addition, you are charged $15.00/hr for a wait rate (e.g., waiting in traffic, waiting for the prospective passenger). The maximum fare (not including surcharges) is $19.00. You can go to mapquest to find out the distance and do the math.

There are loads of hotels in that area so there are usually always cabs there. If not, walk down to the Marriott (or any hotel.) Marriott is at 9th and F I believe.

When I was at that Marriott it was about $10-$14 to get to Georgetown.

It is usually pretty easy. I don't know how much fare is, but snice you're from New York, I guess I should tell you that the cabs are often red and blck instead of yellow, but they are sometimes yellow.
