Please simplify:-

(x^2 - 1) / (x + 2) X (x^2 + 4x +4) / ( x + 1)

the ans is (x-1) (x+2)

Please show the steps.

Ans: (x-1)(x+2) when x =/= -1,-2

(x^2 - 1) / (x + 2) X (x^2 + 4x +4) / ( x + 1)

(x+1)(x-1)/(x+2) x(x+2)^2/(x+1)

(x-1)(x+2)
