Sir Isaac Newton is a familiar name to many people. He is the scientist who
discovered gravity while he was sitting under an apple tree and an apple dropped on his head. However, few people know that he also found out that light is made up of a mixture of seven colours. He proved this with the help of a prism, which is a special piece of glass that can bring white light up into its seven colours.

Newton was born in 1642, in England. His father had passed away even before he was born and did not leave the family with much money. Hence, Newton's childhood was filled with hardship because his family did not have enough money to send him to school for a proper education. Fortunately, when Newton's mother remarried, his life became bright . He was sent to study in a grammar school. He did very well in his schoolwork and he made it to the prestigious Trinity Collage.

Although Newton died in 1727, his discoveries are still very useful today. In
fact, much of the science we are learning today are based on the discoveries of Newton. Newton was truly a great scientist.

I agree with 002's answers, but would like to offer an alternative to two of them:
1. "sleeping" under the apple tree.
2. "break" white light up into its seven colours.
