What is the meaning of "building the company's franchise in the region"? I understand that "franchise" here does not mean permission given by a company to somebody to sell its goods or services.
Does it mean building the company's position (or client base, etc) in the region?

It just means an outlet, like mcdonald's opened it's 3rd franchise in knoxville yesterday

Franchise is like.... Blizzard is a company, but Warcraft is a franchise owned by Blizzard. Marvel is a company, Spider-Man is a franchise. etc.
