Firefox is already running..................................?

This is a glitch in the firefox browser. Sometimes this happens because not all processes of firefox shutdown at once. Sometimes waiting will not solve it and you will have to use the control-alt-delete option.

1. Hit control-alt-delete keys all at once.
2. open task manager
3.Go to the process tab
4. Find where it says firefox.exe
5. Select this process and hit end process

Then you should be good to go. Sometimes this happens but should not happen often. If it does, you may need to update firefox or reinstall it.

Press CTRL + ALT + DEL and then look ahead to the activity supervisor to return up (XP) or click commence activity supervisor (Vista). click any situations of "firefox.exe" and end them. Then attempt to launch Firefox returned.

I've noticed this too. When you close down the Firefox window, the process apparently sticks around for a while before it is totally removed.

So you can either wait a while (probably 30 seconds or so), or, if your impatient, do the control-alt-delete thing to bring up the task/process manager and manually end the Firefox process.

I am not sure how to rectify this problem, but I will let you know that mine is doing the same thing.
