Let f(x) = x2 – 3x + 5, evaluate f(-2).?

f ( - 2 ) = (- 2 ) ² - 3 ( - 2 ) + 5

f ( - 2 ) = 4 + 6 + 5

f ( - 2 ) = 15

I assume the equation if f(x) = x^2 - 3x + 5

f(-2) means the value of f(x) when x = -2. So we have:

f(-2) = (-2)^2 - 3*(-2) + 5

=> f(-2) = 4 + 6 + 5

=> f(-2) = 15

Just write -2 in the place of x,you will get your answer.That is-
(-2)*2-3*(-2)+5=(-4)+6=2.

i think the 2nd equation could study g(x) = -x^2 + 3x -2. besides, basically plug interior the values of x=a million into f and x=0 into g. We get f(a million) = 3(a million) -2 = 3 - 2 = a million; and g(0) = -(0)^2 + 3(0) -2 = -0 + 0 - 2 = -2. for this reason, f(a million) - g(0) = a million - (-2) = a million + 2 = 3.

f(-2) = 4 + 6 + 6
