I don't know you refer to the light on earth or light in outer space.
On earth, light will be absorbed by the mdeium, e.g. air, water...etc, it passes through and eventually deposited its energy in the medium as heat. If a beam of light incident onto a substance, part of the light energy is absorbed (which transferred to heat energy) and part of it is reflected. Subsequent reflection and absoption on other substances will continue until all light energy is absorbed.
In outer space, e.g. light from a star, light will be absorbed or scattered by interstellar matter, mostly hydrgoen molecules, stardusts...etc, until all energy in the light beam is absorbed.
