Unlike other sports time does not control the game. You can't stall (well you can but not to the point of other sports) or celebrate a win 30 seconds before the whistle blows. You ALWAYS have a chance to come back. ALWAYS. Baseball is also one of the most unpredictable games you'll ever see. It's been around a long time and you think you've seen everything well i'll tell you this you haven't. Speaking of it's long tenure baseball is appreciated I think because of it's long and traditional history. The history of baseball goes WAY back. It's rich and extremely well documented. Not like other histories of sports aren't important to their respective games but there's something about baseball that you can talk for hours and hours about facts, stats, players' scouting reports from the 1900s etc and still not know enough info about it. There's always room to learn and always room to share your info with other people. They say baseball is America's past time for a reason. It's been with the US through war, through hard economic times etc. Thick and thin :D Lastly, baseball brings my family together. We all love watching the games and my family is very important to me :)
I like that it is long, that each game could possibly go on forever.......
I like the fact that the umpires are human and that their many mistakes change the game. I like all of the ridiculous possibilities, Bumpus Jones.
I like to remember all of the games I played.
I personally enjoy the game because I understand it. I played softball for many many years, my family also loves baseball, it is something that we could all do/watch together. I have a big family so at family gatherings we would always play a game up at the high school field. imo the people that say it is boring probably never played and don't understand the game.
There is no sound in sport as sweet as the sound of a wooden bat making solid contact with a baseball. It is distinctive and can still make me go WOW after all these years.
i love baseball because 1. i understand it (when i was little i had no clue what was going on and i hated it) 2. I think because ive grown up with it, going to my brothers baseball games when i was little and to my dads games it became a part of my life at a very young age even though i didn't appreciate it for years (i went to my first Angel game when i was like 2) and 3. I love following the games, its fun to get excited when you favorite team is doing well and its fun to talk with other fans because they could be a complete stranger and they could be wearing a shirt with a team logo on it and you automatically have something in common.

I think there's a lot of factors that go into why I love baseball so much and why it's my favorite sport. First of all, I grew up with watching baseball. It's my dad's favorite sport and he's a huge Red Sox fan and I guess he passed it onto me. I remember being taken to Red Sox games when I was really little and also watching games with my dad.
Also, I love how baseball is like no other sport. Take football for example, there's one game a week and then you have to wait a whole nother week for another game (or sometimes 2 weeks if there's a bye week). I love how on any night during the Summer I can turn on the t.v. and there will be a baseball game on. I just want to watch the sport I love as much as I can. That one night after the All-star break were there's no baseball sucks for me haha
Also, people call baseball boring but I don't see that at all. There's nothing more exciting to me in sports than a homerun. There's nothing in other sports that can make me jump up and pump my fist like plays in baseball do.
Cause its the most unique game! Its the only game, well other than softball, that a defense has the ball. Also they dont play against a clock. Another thing you have to be good defensively and offensively cause if your pulled then your done for the day. And most importantly there are no excuses in baseball if you lose, all the time in the world, if you make an error cant blame anyone but yourself, you strikeout its on you. Its the purest game there is!
the best thing about baseball i like is, the ball can only end up being foul, hit, error, ball strike, or dead ball. If you can see or anticipate where the ball will be at the end of each pitch, you know what to look for when the ball is put into play. After watching lots of games, you should know which player is suppose to what when the ball is put in play, and then you watch to see if that happens. The next best thing about baseball is seeing your team win, and even winning the world series.
Go Jays Go!
From my youth on, I have been absorbing baseball from playing the game as a child to watching the Cubs on WGN all those years. I also am fascinated with all the players personal statistics.
I love the game because it's fun to watch and fun to play. I love it because of the great history that it has, and the so many great players that have played. Baseball is a classic summer sport, and when it comes, summer's right around the corner!
