Windows 7 Starter to Home Premium question?

I am running Windows 7 Starter and wanted to upgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium, I know the upgrade version will work. However, will it also work if I get the stand alone Win 7 Home Premium? Thanks a lot.

Yes since they use the same upgrade logic. The upgrade version has additional logic in the setup to validate you have a valid existing license. Other than that it is the same.

If you buy the upgrade version (it's cheaper), there's a custom (fresh install) option. As long as you have a qualifying system on your computer, either version will do either an update or a clean install.

Yes, if you buy the stand alone version, there will be an upgrade option when you boot the disc.
