a^3 - b^3 ≡ (a - b)(a^2 + ab + b^2)(v^3 - 216)/(v - 6)
= [(v - 6)(v^2 + 6v + 36)]/(v - 6)
= v^2 + 6v + 36

the formula for breaking down (a^3-b^3) is this (a-b)(a^2+ab+b^2)
so it's easy your numerator is the a3b3 thing so you can factor out (v-6)from the numerator
then the (v-6)s divide to 1 and you're left with v^2+6v+36
i wonder how long ago those 40 years ended... WWII?
